Order of Worship

Order of Worship

Worshipping God properly is a vital part of true communion with God in a corporate worship setting.  It is not only important to worship God in the truth of who He is, but it is also important to worship Him with a proper attitude in worship.  To help foster this, at Living Water Bible Church we have arranged the Order of Worship in a way that we believe will help each in attendance to come to God with the proper attitudes as well as cultivate a heart of true worship unto God.

Call to Worship

  • Each week we read a selection from Scripture and sing a Hymn that helps us understand that we have gathered to give praise to God and God alone.  For His mighty deeds, for His incredible love and for the gift of eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.  Psalm 100, Psalm 29, 1 Chronicles 16

Confession

  • Each week we spend a few moments silently confessing our sins before God, that He would renew our minds and hearts and forgive us of all unrighteousness.  We do this so that God’s word would be preached in truth and heard in truth for the glory of God and the benefit of His people.  1 John 1:9, Romans 12:2

Sermon

  • Following confession, we come before the Lord to learn from the truth of His word.  God’s word is the only source that a Christian must consult for all areas of life and faith and a large portion of each Sunday service is given to this important task of highlighting and learning biblical truths.  2 Timothy 3:16, Nehemiah 8

Worship in Song

  • We believe the proper response to the truth of scripture is to worship our Lord for His mighty deeds and for the salvation given only through Jesus Christ.  John 4:23-24, Psalm 98:4-9, Psalm 63

Giving/Offering

  • As a response to God’s goodness and greatness we give our financial offering to the Lord.  We give cheerfully and sacrificially as we are called to in light of all that Christ has given on our behalf.  Giving is both a response to God’s great mercy and also a willing offering given out of the overflow of gratitude from our hearts for all He has done through Jesus Christ.  2 Corinthians 9:6-7, Acts 4:32-37, Luke 6:38, 2 Corinthians 8:34, Luke 16:10-12

Prayer Time

  • Each week we spend time praying together as a congregation.  We first take prayer requests and offer praise to God for answered prayers and then spend time praying together in separate groups.  1 Thessalonians 5:17, Philippians 4:6

Benediction

  • Each week we close the service by singing a benediction to each other as well as receiving a benediction from Pastor John.  Numbers 6:24-27
